Hey Marty,

Sorry I can't join you as I'll be in Vancouver watching the game at the Academic. Here is the link to the Ship site: http://www.shipandanchor.com/  Couldn't yet find this week's game on the site, but it should be updated soon and I expect Spurs-Chelsea should be on. [Event calendar tab, then hit soccer icon.]

Shouldn't be too bad at that time of day [10:30 a.m.] so I expect show up a bit early and you're good to go. [though truthfully haven't been that way in the morning for a while since I added Setanta at home]. Ship is definitely a cool pub — I've consumed more than my fair share of pints there.

Lastly, 12th ave and 8th St is an easy stroll over — 10 min or so I'd think.

Enjoy,

Mark.

Hey Marty,

I am Doug, living in Calgary. The Ship is the place to go for this match and no, it's not far from your hotel.

If you are definitely going to be at the pub, it would be good to join you and say Hi (if that's cool?). There will be many Chelsea wannabees in the bar for sure! Any chance we get to have our own small group would be awesome!

Send me an email to douglas.barns@gmail.com in the next day or so if you are going and we'll have a chat! COYS!

Hello Calgary Spurs supporters,

Been a Spurs fan for about 5 years now but recently became a full member of Spurs Canada and was looking to get out to some games at the Ship and Anchor was just working what the support is like here in Calgary, being from Southern Ontario were I was probably the only fan in the area. Also, was curious as to how often Spurs are shown at the bar and if it's only for the big games.

Cheers!

Brad

Welcome to the Club, judging by your name and the fact you support the mighty Lilywhites, you seem to be an upstanding bloke. Wink

The Ship is a great place to watch the matches when they are shown live, but the match against City was PVR'd and shown on a delayed basis. Nicola (one of the management team there) is a HUGE Spurs supporter, so they are shown whenever possible for the most part.

Of course this is dependant upon the tv schedules…. Wink

There is always footy there on Saturday mornings, there is a link on the pub's website that shows what matches will be shown.

Glad to have you aboard, and no doubt Doug will be happy you joined up as well, as he is the head of the supporter club's Calgary chapter….

Fantastic! I'll be sure drag my ass out of bed and down to a game soon and introduce myself. It's nice to know I'm not completely surrounded by glory hunters.Confused I'll keep an eye on website and hopefully I'll make it out for the Newcastle game.

Thanks Brad

Brad & Brad! Good news!!!

Glad to hear from you (new Brad & existing Brad) – this is going to get confusing!

So, we are playing on Monday, and unfortunately I will be at work!  Having said that, England play Scotland in the opening rugby union Six Nations competition! (Egg chasing I know!).

Anyone interested in turning out at the Fiddlers Courtyard, 09:30 Saturday morning?

http://www.fiddlerscourtyard.com/

$11 entry gets you a free breakfast and a right good rugby match!

Call/Text me if interested 403 918 7091
