God that was a horrible effort. On the cabbage patch of a field we would have been better fielding 11 White Hart Lane groundskeepers that football players.

It was ugly.

We tried to run at Stevenage. I think Van der vaart should have brought clogs for all the players.

Lets wipe that one out.

Norman Giller sent me an e mail that said ' It remeinds me of when we played Crewe away in 1959.We lost 1-1.That was almost the double team. Then when we got them back home you know what we did"

Thats good Norman,Thats good.

Yes it was horrible but both teams have to deal with the same conditions, too many of our players went missing on the day regardless of the pitch.

Can't see a 13-2 in the return but would expect a comfortable victory as I don't think Harry would put up with the same type of performance and with Bolton next we have a good chance to go all the way.

I have spoken to some Spurs fans who were at the game and they think Harry did a deal for a draw to earn Stevenage some more money as they didn't believe the team could be that bad.

Ian its a possibility but cant really see Harry openly telling the players to play for a draw.

You dont have to look to the Newcastle game and some others to compare. It was the same at Watford/Shamroock etc

Personally I dont think Harry is that sophisticated in his managing. He lets them play and adjusts a little. In this one though everything needed adjusting.

We should have kept possession and played strong defence and come out from there.

The way we play usually suits an open field. This was anything but.

Better we worked mostly with physical more structured configuration and opened it up once we secured that tempo.

We chased our tails I think.

This has happened before. It needs a new way of dealing with it

I think though in the return we will smash them

Ronnie,

The comment about playing for a draw was a joke. A bit like our display against Arsenal today.

Ian there were comments from people about us playing for a draw in that one. After watching this absolute collapse and shambles yesterday my doubts about the coaching and managing come roaring back.No team has such a Jekyll and Hyde personality as we do. How can we possibly analyse it?

The games against Inter and Real Madrid/ Watford and Newcastle and Arse bring a lot of questions but few answers.
